Good company in a journey makes the way seem shorter.

Izaak Walton

The first storybook I read that I can remember vividly was “She stoops to conquer- Oliver Goldsmith. I remember finishing the book and thinking wow!!! I knew it was fiction but I read the little authors information at the back of the book and I realized for the first time that people write stories.

This was when I decided I was going to be a storyteller. I was just eight years old and I had no idea how I was going to do it but I knew I loved a good story. I guess we can say that was when my love for the art of storytelling started.

I read more and more after that and my vocabulary grew bigger and bigger. I developed a great fascination for words and their meanings. I wanted to be able to write my own stories someday.

Over the last 30 something years of my life, I have journaled, written poems, written pieces here and there but I have never shared most of it with the world. My writing has always been personal to me.

In the last few years however, I have come full circle. I have realized that storytelling never left me. I left it or ignored it for so long. I have realized that in everything that I was as a person, I was a storyteller. I loved talking, capturing moments through photos and videos and I still found a way to write even when it’s just done in my head. I also have an immense love for quotes and wordplay. I constantly sought out new materials to read and buying books became a habit.

I have decided to embrace this part of me. I have made up my mind to give in to the yearning of my mind, heart and soul. So here I am starting my blog and hoping to tell stories of all kinds. I will use words, pictures, videos and everything that creates a good story.

I hope to inspire, impact and start conversations with my craft. I also hope to someday finally author my own book or books.

I will be documenting life as I see it through my eyes. I implore you to come along with me on this journey. I will love to gain and share with as many people as possible. And I look forward to a fun filled writing journey.

I will be putting up another post detailing what to expect from this blog.

Thank you for reading. I hope you share, like and subscribe to my mailing list so that you are kept in the loop.
